It’s Showtime! Adonis Stevenson Makes Network Move

Once Adonis Stevenson signed with Al Haymon the boxing republic had suspicion a network move would take place. Now it is official that the next fight with Adonis Stevenson (23-1 20KO’s) taking on Andrzej Fonfara (25-2 15KO’s), whom holds the IBO light heavyweight world title will be broadcast on Showtime. The bout is scheduled to take place May 24, from Montreal.

With the move to Showtime an anticipated fight between Adonis Stevenson and Sergey Kovalev is now thrown out the window. The two shared a card in November, where both men scored sensational knockouts.

Also with the move the landscape of possible opponents now changes for Stevenson. A possible match-up that looms is the winner of Bernard Hopkins vs Beibut Shumenov. That fight takes place April 19 and will put pressure on Adonis Stevenson to win his bout so future business can be made.

Lets not forget that post fight Hopkins-Murat, that Bernard Hopkins made mention without specifically saying a name he wanted to face a certain HBO fighter (Adonis Stevenson). The old veteran shall be a favorite when he faces a young inexperienced champion such as Beibut Shumenov.

A turning 50 party may be building up for a Hopkins-Stevenson showdown if both men should be victorious.
