After twitter beef between Amir Khan and Adrien Broner got fans excited their next fight announcements finally surfaced. Yes, both fighters will be showcased on the Mayweather-Maidana undercard just not against each other. Amir Khan, after feeling shafted by Floyd Mayweather Jr. will take the co-feature in hopes to audition for Floyd’s next fight and gain a belt in the process. Adrien Broner will face Carlos Molina in a 10 round bout.
Adrien Broner went up two weight classes in his last two ring appearances and seemed to be too much of a move up. He barely squeezed out a victory over Paul Malignaggi and then got battered by Marcos Maidana.
Adrien Broner will be moving down to 140 lbs to fight Carlos Molina. Broner seems to be searching for a comfortable weight class. While Carlos Molina is looking to make a comeback in hopes to surprise the world. Last time Molina was in the ring was in December of 2012 when he lost to Amir Khan by 10th round stoppage.
With the triple threat of fights scheduled for May 3, it seems like a triangle has formed to possibly give Amir Khan two options depending on his performance. If Khan grabs a spectacular win look for a Mayweather fight in September. If a mediocre performance is displayed maybe a Khan-Broner bout could happen, says my crystal ball.
