Josesito Lopez Gets Technical Decision Over Mike Arnaoutis

Josesito Lopez the tough contender known as the “Riverside Rocky” faced a game competitor in “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. The match on paper seemed like a fight for Josesito Lopez to boost himself back into title contention after taking back to back losses to power punchers Marcos Maidana and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.

Mike Arnaoutis was not that easy of a task for Josesito Lopez as expected. That was relevant when Arnaoutis caught Lopez with a check hook that had Josesito take a knee as Mike Arnaoutis scored a knockdown.

Josesito was the obvious aggressor from the get go as he stalked Mike Arnaoutis throughout the bout. As Arnaoutis fought while backing up he had his moments of rock solid counters along with swift combos to once in awhile keep Lopez’s offensive attack away.

The Josesito Lopez swarm was enough to win rounds, but a clash of heads would end up being the decisive factor. An accidental headbutt that took place in the 8th round opened up a huge gushing cut over the eye of Mike Arnaoutis. In between the 8th and 9th round the contest would be halted due to the gash. The fight was ended short by two rounds and Josesito Lopez was the winner by technical decision.

The win for Josesito Lopez probably will not put him in reach for a belt in his next fight. Josesito however my find himself fighting in Indio once again in 2014 and that fight might be a trial run to once again challenge the elite in his division
