Saturday might was a huge match with the heavyweights jocking for position in order to get their world title shot. Chris Arreola took on Seth Mitchell at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. The fight would not last too long as Chris Arreola had a lot to fight for Saturday.
Chris Arreola could not afford to lose and had promised to deliver a knockout. Chris Arreola proved to be a man of his word as he said what he was going to do and did it faster than most people would had thought. It took only one round for Arreola to dispose of his opponent Seth Mitchell. The punching power was on Arreola’s side from the start as you can tell he had the heavier hands and Seth Mitchell’s nightmare had just begun. Mitchell was downed twice. After the first time you can tell Mitchell did not collect himself. Once Mitchell rose Chris went after him again, Mitchell than turned his back and referee Jack Reiss put a end to the contest.
With the win Chris Arreola improves to (36-3-0, 31KO’s) and Seth Mitchell is now (26-2-1, 19KO’s). With the win Chris Arreola before the match said he wanted to seek vengeance on Bermane Stiverne, but fight fans want him to take on Deontay Wilder. It is almost a guarantee Chris Arreola will face one of those two men. So far it looks like Deontay Wilder will be the most likely favorable candidate. Deontay Wilder is also coming off a win recently from the same location in Indio, California.
Also on the fight card the co-main event featured Rafael Marquez fighting Efrain Esquivias. Rafael Marquez looks to had enough of the sport as Efrain Esquivias was able to pull of the win with a 9th round TKO. Efrain Esquivias after the win had called out Leo Santa Cruz, which would be a tough contest since the high punch volume and power of Leo Santa Cruz will pose as a major threat to any competitor in the super bantamweight division.
