Three Strikes: Devon Alexander vs. Kell Brook Postponed

boxing_e_dalexanderts_576As the old saying goes, three strikes and you are out of their my friend. Yet for the third time the match-up between Devon Alexander and Kell Brook has been postponed, or maybe even cancelled. That is still yet to be determined.

The two fighters were suppose to meet back in the beginning of the year on January 19, 2013 in Los Angeles, California. That did not happen due to an ankle injury to Kell Brook. So the fight was than moved to February 23, 2013 set to take place in Detroit, Michigan. Now the second time around the injury happen to Devon Alexander. Alexander seriously strained his right bicep.

Now the fight would than be rescheduled again to take place May 18, 2013. Now again an injury would happen to Kell Brook. Brook has recently developed pain in his right foot.

So far it looks like Devon Alexander is going to keep the May 18th date. Since Brook will not be able to preform the contender inline for an IBF title shot will get the chance to take on Alexander.

Both fighters last fought on October 20, 2012. Alexander defeated Randall Bailey in New York for a welterweight title. Also that same night across the water in England, Kell Brook defeated Hector Saldivia with a third round knockout.

The contender to fight Devon Alexander on May 18th seems like it will be Ed Paredes, but nothing official has been announced.
