Adrian Broner, one of boxing’s youngest and top talented at age 23 was arrested Monday morning in Miami. The arrest came after he reportedly got into it with another man named Michael Owensby. This took place at the prestigious Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach. Two security guards came to break up the incident. In doing so one of the security guards was bitten by Adrien Broner. They managed to keep the “Problem” Adrien Broner under control until law enforcement officers were able to come to the scene. Adrien Broner was also drunk during all of this and was taken into custody.
To prove that this event really did take place, Adrien Broner used social media to confirm his arrest. He used his twitter account saying “they tried to keep a n***a locked down in Miami.” Also, the mugshot pictured was from the morning of the arrest.
He also talked to RingTV about the incident and used his upcoming opponent as the reason in a joking matter:
“I’ve got something to say about what happened today. I’m going to beat the s**t out of Pauletta. He’s so scared to fight me that he sent some police to arrest me for nothing. That’s what happened. That’s what the f**k happened. Paulie’s so scared to fight me that he sent somebody to arrest me and to put some fake charges on me.”
Adrien Broner was later released on $1,500.00 bond.
This minor bump in the road should have no effect on Adrien Broner’s boxing career and he will still take on Paulie Malignaggi on June 22, 2013 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for the WBA world welterweight title.
