Angelo Dundee Dead at 90

Everyone at is sad to report that the legendary boxing trainer, Angelo Dundee, has passed away at the age of 90 on Wednesday night. Dundee was most famously known as Muhammad Ali’s trainer, but he was so much more than that. Throughout his boxing career he trained 15 world champions including Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, George Foreman, Carmen Basilio and Jose Napoles.

Dundee has been one of boxing’s biggest ambassadors for over six decades and was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1994. The sport will forever miss Dundee. Nobody will ever contribute as much to the sport as Angelo Dundee and it has been an absolute pleasure covering him throughout the years.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Dundee family. According to his son, Jimmy Dundee, Angelo died with his family surrounding him.

“It was the way he wanted to go,” Jimmy Dundee said. “He did everything he wanted to do.”

Rest in Peace.
